Paris is the portal of dreams for many and a vibrant city with year-round activities to relish in no matter the season. Take a look at some of our favorite things to experience and do while exploring The City of Lights.
At any given time in Paris, you could find yourself surrounded by an abundant selection of art events waiting to be discovered. One of our favorites is Paris Gallery Weekend, held annually in May, June, or July. This event showcases featured galleries with special performances and openings, offering attendees the chance to meet the artists themselves. Celebrating the diverse array of artists working across various scales of medium and method, this art festival serves as an excellent platform to discover new and up-and-coming talents. This year, the event will be hosted from May 24th to 26th.
Stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg and unleash your inner flâneur. The Medici Fountain, built around 1630 and commissioned by Marie de' Medici, the widow of King Henry IV of France and regent of King Louis XIII of France, invites you to sit idly amidst the palace and lush greenery, indulging in a perfectly Parisian pastime of people-watching.

The Le Marais neighborhood is where you go to enjoy life's simple pleasures. It plays host to some amazing museums like the Musée Picasso and the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature. Additionally, it boasts a large number of designer boutiques, thrift stores, and vintage consignment shops, not to mention amazing places to grab a snack or a drink at and visit the local covered marketplace.
Here are some of our favorite places to stop for food and sweet treats in the neighborhood.
Caractère de Cochon is a unique store in Le Marais that focuses on cooked and cured ham, as well as a wide range of pâtés, terrines, antipasti, and sausages packed into this intimate space. You can enjoy an excellent jambon-beurre sandwich with your choice of ham to go from this delectable shop.

Thomas Artisan Fromager has several locations, one being in Le Marais. One of our favorites is their crispy, melted raclette potato, onion, and ham sandwich, wrapped in a thin flatbread.

Les 3 Chocolats is a unique blend of a patisserie and a chocolate shop, curated by Chef Emiko Sano, a third-generation chocolatier. Her exquisite desserts, born from a fusion of Japanese flavors and French finesse, include chocolate maki, seasonal fruit pies, travel cakes, and other surprisingly delicious flavors.

Chez Papa Jazz Club is one of those discreet and dimly lit venues, playing music from Tuesday to Saturday evening from 8:30 PM to 1:00 AM. You never know what you are going to get, instrumental or singing, or both! It is like being transported for one night into the Paris of yesteryear. Don’t go if you are looking for posh: this place serves authenticity at every corner, from its graffiti-stained walls bearing images and notes from guests to its homemade terrine (delicious, by the way).
